Innovation and building design

Soumaya Museum

  • Soumaya Museum

Museum designed by the architect Fernando Romero for the Carso group in memory of the wife of Mr. Carlos Slim Helú as part of the Plaza Carso complex.

It has a very complex and avant-garde facade composed of 16,000 aluminum hexagons of different sizes that gently cover the capricious shape of the building with a floating appearance.

The innovative asymmetric design, as well as the different shades and reflections that shine at different times of the day have made this museum one of the most iconic architectural venues of the capital.
